Korean compact is not very exciting, so does is cost-effective technique Hyundai Accent does not have the slightest innovation, even for decoration. It is a proven role in Far Eastern automotive technology. The spectrum of its power range from 60 to 102 hp, but also coolest bikes come often in workshops.

Only three years ago presented a modern common rail diesel puts a – emphasis in the range of bikes. The suspension is decent as the whole car, the bigger challenge is uneven, but the car behaves well in a straight line. In terms of overall size is pretty narrow focus, even boot does not solve the mystery of the missing space. In favor of Hyundai Accent speak its low purchase price and low maintenance costs, against him – Statistics damage.

A little more about the Hyundai Accent

Do you know who was the first Korean car completely? Not? Do not worry – Koreans themselves are not very clear. Besides fighting for foreign markets, the two giants of the land of plum colored Hyundai and Daewoo long in dispute on this issue, trying to return to the subject until the 50s of the last century. No wonder soon creator four-stroke engine to be an offshoot of the famous race Oh It Seoul.

The Korean economic miracle and its automotive industry in particular are recognized merit of Japanese technological assistance and financial injections from the U.S. all the others but not themselves Koreans. Matter of national pride …

Prevail in the dispute over authorship of the first Korean car still seems to be a Hyundai. In the middle of the 70 years the company attacked the U.S. and Canada with a car bearing the name humble Pony. It was designed by Korean engineers (it seems – first class) and tickles the patriotism of gaining economic power nation.

Nothing that the engine is supplied by Mitsubishi. To the surprise of all “short-legged horse” RWD is amazingly well spends in markets where only carts on golf courses are less than five meters long. Twenty years later successor Pony now called Accent (Europe and America), but continues to win customers with well designed formula “What’s it pay? ‘. It really offers a lot for its price, but it turns and quite a bad deal in the market, second-hand.

The salon is not top luxury but The interior trim and nothing superfluous
Hyundai Accent debuted in September 1994 as a successor to the second generation Pony. Initially available only in sedan body, and a year later, the range is enriched with a hatchback with three or five sent. The body is decorated in modern early 90s organic design that creates an optical illusion known and lying about the real dimensions. Assembly of the body rejoices with Asian precision that can not be said for the gym.

Materials used for its materials are expensive and sometimes poorly matched and it shows especially after two or three years of operation. Koreans can be global industrial power, but the design still has to learn. Seems aware of this, because strains aesthetic layout of the room gravitate toward zero. However, all units are arranged wonderfully, and the board can hardly surprised even a complete novice behind the wheel. Everything is where it should be. Larger Accent owners complain about the uncomfortable seats for their size and fatigue after a long trip.

For the class that falls under European standards, the compact Hyundai offers more than adequate interior space and decent boot. However, it remains a four-car.

Koreans have done much in the field of passive safety of their offspring. In standard equipment on every Accent has airbags for the driver and autumn of 1995, this is provided for passengers to it. The doors are further reinforced against side impact. ABS is starting to be installed in series until April 1998

The range of available engines will hardly cause fluctuations in Hamlet potential buyer. The model is completed with two units – 1.3-and 1.5-liter, but a decently wide range of circuit characteristics. Depending on the version as the little engine developing 60, 75 and 84 hp, with the forced option is completed with an automatic gearbox. Great unit provides 88 horses in the basic design and 99 in the sports modification GT. Recommended is the choice of engine with 75 hp Spend as its base analogue and is more agile and flexible. 1500 cc engine also deserves interest, although swallowing too much.

Accent motors create less care. Can usually surprised with minor oil leaks from the gasket to the valve cover or dissatisfaction with the fuel load of a station apocryphal. Healthy and are passing the mandatory minimum care surprise with its resources.

Tears lubricant is the main fret and transmission. Would be preferable to avoid automatic with problems that are reported in all years of production. “Lazy” transmissions, however, traditionally not like many people do and do not occur very often. As for mechanical gearboxes, difficult gear engagement and a long lever stroke are ailments of old Hyundai.

Comments from owners of Hyundai Accent

I occasionally drive one such official 5.1 12 valve.
Let me tell you as you look at it is super silly and interior and exterior – poor materials, some plastics, but this year’s class of car. The engine is, but if you spend driving fast. However, very strong motor and is very unlikely to 300-350 thousand (maybe more) you can create a serious problem if you’re keeping it (meaning supplies that are not at all expensive). And we should be very careful with the suspension because it is beneath criticism. In turns, especially at speeds above 120-130 car is super unstable. I personally like I got my adrenaline it on the highway at speeds from 160 to 190 (which makes them no problem) I had a case where I’m scared to death 🙂

Drive a Hyundai Accent 1.3i ’95. I bought it two years ago and since then, just pour and drive. My only problems are described above. Jump for it is written. Overall I am very happy with the car, but I am sure tity only 178 cm tall.

Now I have prepared some 400 eur for replacement of bearings and belts like if you hartisat a new “radio” to get him and punch at full throttle through the mountains and meadows. How long wait for summer ..

With this I disagree. I’m a bike 1.3 to 84 hp I am not a lazy gearbox. But anyway, I’m also 190 cm fully stretched and my seat is magnificent. My previous car was a VW Passat, which is supposedly times, but inside I was not comfortable now than in the Accent.
