Renault Clio

History of Renault Clio

Renault Clio

2010 Renault Clio Sport

1/91 Introduction of a three or five-door as the successor to the Renault 5. Engines: 1.2 liter petrol with 55 hp, 1.4 liter 75 hp, 1.8 liter petrol with 88 or 16v with 135 hp and 1.9 liter diesel with 64 hp

3/94 Facelift. Driver airbag as standard.

4/96 Improvements in the model. Airbag for the driver’s seat next series. New engines: 1.2 liter 55 hp, 1.8 liter 90 hp, 1.8-liter 16v with 109 hp

6/98 Change model, additional engine: 1.6 liter petrol engine with 90 PS, ABS series

3/99 New 1.4 liter 16v 98 hp, 1.6-liter 16v with 107 hp and 2.0 liter 16v with 169 hp

9/00 New 3.0-liter V6 engine with 225 hp

1/01 New 1.2-liter 16v with 75 hp

6/01 Facelift. New turbodiesel direct injection 1.5 dCi 65 hp, and later with 82 hp

Nervous shortcomings in detail can ruin the pleasure of driving a likeable Frenchman. The best thing in Clio: car length 3.70 meters in the interior space is large. This applies to boot.

Due to the variable rear seat can load even small furniture. Suspension is extremely comfortable. If after a long time I feel exhausted, the reason probably is soft seats. In 94 years, they were replaced by more solid, but without significant effect.

With the 1.2-liter base engine with 55 horse powered Clio appropriate. 1.4 liter engine with 75 hp is even better, without expecting miracles in acceleration. More powerful petrol versions (88 to 135 horse) and require a lot more costs, which are rare in the market. Diesel with 64 horse is not particularly exuberant but slightly Clio is sufficient in all cases.

Renault Clio

2011 Renault Clio GT

Like many other models of the Renault Clio is losing oil. Among the weaker sides are shoddy mufflers and rattled wheel suspension. The rust is not the issue. Introduced in ’98, and still current descendant also exemplifies the high quality of workmanship, but in terms of security is much better.

Front and side air bags and ABS are now all serial models. As, moreover, Power steering, without which the management is not very easy. Reliability is not the strongest part of the Clio as it appears from the statistics of faults that supports road assistance.

Comfort and handling, however, and are now short of time. You can also find a modern common-rail diesel with 65 or 82 horses.

Pros: + safe handling, comfortable suspension

Cons: – relative build quality is not very high reliability, low head restraints

The most common damage in Renault Clio

Fuel system: for 16v engines are poorly attached fuel tank, tear or is leaking

Electric: faulty immobilizer, batteries, magnetic switches and cables causing corrosive stopped. On the dashboard switches and lights refuse, horn onemyava

Chassis: loss of oil in the front axle, faulty wheel bearings

Motors: blasted head gaskets, timing belts and torn fuel tank, defective muffler

Comments from owners of Renault Clio

Support for nothing economical cart. To me I would have seen very, very close, but the city is a jewel. The front is a little thin, and change things suspension, not expensive at all. I have a friend with one of said support is like a bicycle.

For durability and reliability leaves something to be desired, but at the expense of maintenance and the cost of parts is low. Suspension in urban holes do not last long and need replacing Tui-onuy during periods that are much shorter than usual, but it is a car which will last these craters. You did not say what engine you to navigate, so there would not comment. The car is a small, comfortable for 1-2 persons, max 1 child back for a long time. Happens to carry two adults back, but not too big and short. In short – it is, is a good choice. The point is to come across with making a car that has more resources than any unsupported or excessive driving.

Well I opted for the engine to 98 1.4 horse if I remember correctly … Otherwise, I proposed a VW Golf 1996, 1.6, 101 horse. I know from experience that strong car, the only thing holding me at Renault that is 3-4 years newer and from the interior is a little better.

I drive such a Clio in 2000 and I would say that I am very pleased with it! The second year it drives everywhere and NOTHING Suspension not spoil and knocking! That I can not tell what are the prices for the parts … On to the goodies it has no leather … Very nice car, but only for city driving I think, only in that I was wrong in my choice. 3000 EUR I had available and got Clio because it burns up down a bit and have a nice ride … Mine is tabled from Italy and I’m damn surprised how much is saved and how it works for the Italian car so that it does not stop the fact if you like a car and is Italy! Grab Clio bold and reckless! Cheap, nice city car!

Renault Clio Tuning

I recently drove to Reno and then Clio but gasoline engine 8.1 16 valve but I have observations on a familiar 1.5 DCI Megan bought this bike with super pleased I did and I tried car will delight in consumption and the development but not Expect to an airplane if the price of the car is low buy it outright if the motor is good otherwise not bother if something bothers sound motor repair is difficult.

Weakness – chassis wants careful driving on our roads. I did it on my and repair of the rear axle, around 200 EUR before 2 years. Otherwise the car is great. Fuel injection as mono my swallowed his cool in town, but a long way to giving 5.5 per 100 full of luggage and four people. Very well behaved winter with good tires was like a snow plow. My at the time I gave a guy making him 8 months and had no problems.

Indeed, as my colleague says weak in the rear suspension and then …. the first repair cost me about 200 EUR. In 2007 but my problem comes from the way of riding and not just a weak unit ….. engine what to say ….. gorgeous. If you have a limited budget …. tity is your car. Success!
