VW Golf Review

What we know about the new 2012 VW Golf?

Official premiere of the VW Golf on September 4, 2012

VW Golf

VW Golf VI 2012

Closer we are to the premiere of the much anticipated seventh generation VW Golf. However, this is the best selling car in Europe, so bet on a big German corporation. That makes the car more interesting.

The premiere of the hatchback will be on Sept. 4, but so far it is known that Wolfsburg have managed to remove 100 kg of the car to the current generation. Thus, through the use of stronger steel (which in turn has reduced the total), fuel consumption drops by 23% and CO2 emissions – by 13.9%.

The new VW Golf will be based on a modular platform MQB, which will be used in no less than 40 small and medium sized cars. At least these are official figures from VW. Accordingly, using a common architecture, the Germans hope to reduce costs for development of the VW Golf by about 20%. Assembly time should also be reduced by about 30%.

Although it will be lighter than the current VW Golf VI, the new model will be 56 mm longer, 13 mm wider and 28 mm lower. That is 4,255 mm long, 1,799 mm wide and 1,452 mm high. In addition, the wheelbase has grown by 59 mm, its front and rear track has increased by 8 and 6 mm. The result is 15 millimeters more legroom, 31 mm more shoulder room for passengers in front and 30 mm – for those behind. The boot will be 30 liters larger (for a total of 380 liters), and the total width of the bottom of the trunk will be 228 mm longer – up to 1272 mm. Meanwhile, in the boot loading will be easier because the edge it will be lower.

As for the interior, the center console, there will also be larger than before, since VW Golf VII gets a new electronic parking brake, which in turn frees additional space – Taman as the center console. VW’s reported that the model will be 12 kg lighter, which means that it was probably a total mass of about 1050 kg.

VW Golf Plus 1.2 2012

Currently, no comprehensive data on the range of engines, but we know that Golf will be available with 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with direct injection, 138 horsepower and deactivation of cylinders. Combined with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission from the last generation, the unit will return fuel consumption of 4.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 112 g / km.

By the end of next month and will showcase Volkswagen GTi version of Golf – exactly at the Paris Motor Show.

The new VW Golf: Official TT data

After less than two weeks will witness the premiere of the seventh generation of the flagship model of Volkswagen. In the factories of the company, however, VW Golf VII produces nearly three weeks, the process runs in complete secrecy. As we have already informed you, the car will be shown on the fourth official in Berlin in September, but now we can do a sort of presentation or Pre peculiar because of the production company publicized a lot of technical data.

Judging from the information, it is clear that the seventh-generation Golf will again be greater in size than its predecessor. Although it continues to grow, the weight of the car this time is significantly reduced. The new VW Golf was relieved by 100 pounds and now weighs less than some cars from the lower subcompact class. Its mass is 1050 kg. The vehicle’s dimensions are 4255 x 1799 x 1452 mm, respectively, length, width and height. Compared to its predecessor, Golf VII is longer by 56 mm, wider by 13 and the height is reduced by 28 mm.

The wheelbase grew slightly more than the growth of the length of the car, +59 mm. Now it is 2637 mm. All this leads to increased comfort and greater place in the interior. The salon is noticeably more spacious, and the volume of storage space is increased by 30 liters. Now the cargo compartment has a decent volume of 380 liters, which does not appear on the top of this indicator. For comparison, the Citroen C4 boot volume is 408 liters.

Otherwise, like the Audi A3 and the new generation of the VW Golf is built on a modular platform MQB. Front suspension is MacPherson strut type and rear is very lever. Expected later in the list of options to appear and adaptive chassis that can change your patience. So much for stopping by the official data. The company has not yet said nothing about the engine range, but reportedly gasoline line will be represented by three TSI engines – 1.2-liter capacity 105 hp, 1.4-liter

with two power between 122 and 140 horses and a two-liter engine with 220 hp (GTI).

Fans of diesel cars will be able to choose from four TDI units. The power of the base diesel engine is 90 horse follows by larger engines with power 110, 150 and finally 180 horsepower version of GTD. Overall, no major surprises are expected from the engine range, naturally all these motors are upgraded. Innovations in the seventh VW Golf lie mainly in additional systems that increase comfort and safety. It now remains only to learn how the car will look like, but experts said it would not be much different from the renders.

Can VW Golf IV drive a 1 000 000 km?

It is well known that the Volkswagen brand and specifically the Golf has many ardent fans both at home and across Europe. Not a few, however, and fans of Japanese cars, many of whom deny the merits of concern VAG. Now a British tried to shut their mouth, proudly announces that his VW Golf IV TDI could easily hanging mileage of 1,000,000 km.

Roy Dyson purchase the Golf in 2002, at which time the car is real 9694 km. Since then, diesel car used reliably to its owner, for this period Roy hanging mileage to an impressive 725,000 kilometers (450,000 miles). The only problem that the owner says is that when the car is 483,000 km spoils alternator.

Fortunately the damage occurs near the service and the problem was resolved within an hour. This is the only damage to the car. Roy regular oil changes, fluids and parts, leading to a prescription as consumables and says that today, when the motor is more than 700,000 km mileage, fuel oil is absolutely negligible.

More curious as owner is that despite huge mileage original cylinder head is in excellent condition and has not undergone any repairs. Today, the average consumption of diesel fuel in question VW Golf IV TDI is between 4 and 5 liters per 100 kilometers. Roy Dyson is convinced that his car will last a long time without a problem and reach covenant limit of one million kilometers.

Comments from owners of VW Golf

The car is great! Urban forests and 8.5 7-100 – city when driving faster. Base model has a sport suspension and sport steering Monroe. There is a chip tuning. The car is very stable, take turn 110 degrees to 160 km / h is very small and agile. Congestion is super! No comment 🙂 car is still a VW.

Drive the car for a year and a bit and frankly a solid car I’ve driven, but rather cars passed through my hands as a mark kinds etc. Its cost is unique to walking, which offers every day from stoplight to stoplight of all gas consumption in the city is 7/100. For me this is quite low for this car. It is very convenient to the city and as well as outside. The biggest plus for me and is a huge rack and also large load capacity, which tolerated. Otherwise calmly ride in 5 people with a full rack 3 pairs of skis. Just supercar much stronger than her new siblings.

VW Golf Tuning

Strong family car. Drive in January than a year, I am glad. Can urban and sub 5/100 to burn is relatively urban summer but now I burn about 8/100 mixed. Expensive if left clutch and flywheel, 1300 I went lev-nozzle motor pump is noisy. However, it is powerful, do not have to go back ahead of speed. There is a sixth gear, which is an advantage. With 120 km / h in sixth’m 2000 rev / min. Drive normally but I’ve given several gas to 200 are dialed. The chassis is simple and stable. Steering wheel is adjustable in height and depth. My sprayer has a headlamp and heated seats. The other items are standard, air conditioning, electric pack, adjustable seats, height, etc. Great rack, appreciated it traveled several times longer. I have 16 summer and winter tires and rims 15 with 16 rides solid-tion. Overall, I am satisfied.

Sturdy cart, any repairs. On the highway to 170-180 km. up, but do not drive, more than 5min., or 150 km. constant speed can be maintained. It is very stable, the brakes are like Passat and stops at once, ABS, and rarely turns. Up to 100 km / h slower speeds, but the traffic lights to 70-80 km off quickly. Push it to beat 4-4300 and gear up. The seats are comfortable, once drove 1000 km and was only stopped for the first time since the VC hurry, then I was not tired, easy to drive and is comfortable for long time. With proper and regular maintenance to pass without a problem 500 thousand kilometers., The engine is virtually forever as long as you drive at low speeds, not to me four thousand regular oil changes, filters, belts and always ready to go. Golf is his 4th jewel, do not change, you only after 5-6 on a six-miss, but then only Y4 ..

Pros: Durability, Stability, inexpensive maintenance

Cons: Some parts are unreasonably expensive, scratchy plastics, high costs vapor is problematic driver’s seat broke and squeak, hard look back, collapsing power mirrors, air conditioning compressor breaks
